Is your bathroom the most boring room in the house? If so, don’t panic because you are not alone. In fact, even those of us that put heaps of time and effort into decorating all the other spaces in our home can have less-than-exciting bathrooms. The good news is, however, that it is possible to improve your bathroom with some simple ( and cheap) strategies. Keep reading to find out what they are.

Tiles don’t have to be plain
Many bathrooms have tiles either covering the entire wall space or as a splashback around the shower and sink. The thing is you can do a lot to decorate tiles these days so even if you have to buy the cheapest plain ones, they don’t need to be boring.
For example, you may look online and get some inspiration concerning the shades and tones that are trending right now. (Muted colours like peach, orange-red, emerald green and mustard yellow in case you were wondering). Then grab some tile paint and give your bathroom an overhaul.
Additionally, it is also possible to get a variety of tile stickers that are mostly see-through, with vintage botanical or natural images on them. These being items that can give your bathroom a dramatic facelift for a low cost.
Use modern materials
There is most definitely a trend in bathrooms right now for the ultra-modern, and ultra-minimalist look which can be both very stylish and exciting. However, the good news is that you don’t have to rip out your existing bathroom to get it.
In fact, you will find a large range of plastic wall panels that can be used in the bathroom in modern finishes that look like materials like concrete. Happily, installing these panels is as easy as getting a few tubes of adhesive, rather than starting the entire room from the ground up!
New towels and textiles
Next, a straightforward and most effective way of bringing some texture, drama and excitement to your bedroom is by introducing some new textiles. You can completely change the feel of a room with some brightly coloured or patterned towels.
These are not the only textiles that you can replace, however, because many bathrooms also have shower curtains, window blinds, and bathmats. Choose the same tone for all for a more cohesive look, while different shades of the colour can provide added interest.
Add some personal (& fun) touches
Finally, when it comes to making the bathroom a more exciting place, don’t be shy about adding in some fun touches. There are a whole range of these that you can consider including adding framed art to the walls. A type of decoration that many people forget about for bathrooms. However, as long as they are framed behind glass, such pictures can transform your bathroom from a generic space into one that is as individual as you are.
Additionally, adding in some handmade beauty products can work wonders. The great news is that they are cheap to make and will ensure your bathroom isn’t just exciting, but a fun space to use as well.
