1 dessert is never enough, so here are 10 delicious recipes

We all make New Year’s resolutions at the start of every year. We know that in 2022, many people want to learn how to cook better.

So, we thought that if people want to make delicious food from home then they will need some dessert inspiration. That is where this article comes in.

We are big foodies and dessert is by far our favorite point of the meal. Today, we are going to talk about 10 unmissable desserts that you need to learn how to make this year.

Assortment of pieces of cake.

#10 – Watermelon Salad

There is nothing better in the height of summer than having a dessert that you can pick at after dinner while you enjoy the late evenings.

This salad is exactly what that situation calls for. It is made by mixing large cubes of Watermelon, Feta cheese, and rocket leaves. We know that it sounds like a strange combination of ingredients – but trust us, you are going to want to make a huge bowl of this one.

This salad pairs perfectly with a glass of light, fruity white wine.

#9 – French Silk Pie

We take pie pretty seriously in America, but the French have done something pretty great with the concept of pie here.

This is a dessert that you won’t want to share but as soon as everyone else takes a bit of it, you will have to.

The best part about this recipe is that it does not involve any baking, all you have to do is make space in the fridge to store it. Not that it will be sticking around for long.

#8 – Boston Cream Donut

Boston is not famous for its donuts, but you are going to want to try one of these bad boys.

This donut is a mini take on the classic Boston Cream Pie and offers everything anyone with a sweet tooth could dream of. Sweet pastry, chocolate frosting, and a custard filling.

How is this donut different from one made with Bavarian cream? Well, this article on bavarian cream vs Boston cream donuts will tell you everything you need to know.

#7 – Salted Caramel Matcha Cheesecake

When it comes to desserts, we have a few buzzwords – “caramel”, “cheese”, and “matcha” are all words that make our stomach rumble.

The key to cooking with matcha is to never heat it above 176F otherwise you will burn it. So, a cooled cheesecake is a perfect option for this green powder.

You can either make this recipe with salted caramel matcha or plain matcha and add the salted caramel in sauce form. Whichever is easier to find.

#6 – Chia Spice Hot Chocolate

If you think that Hot Chocolate is not a dessert, then you are not doing Hot Chocolate right my friend.

This recipe takes the best of Indian Chai Spices and combines them with the wonders of German Hot Chocolate (the best type of Hot Chocolate) to make something better than the sum of its parts.

If you are looking for a dessert to help you get through the last few miserable weeks of winter  – then look no further. You can even make hot chocolate in your Instant pot.

#5 – Millionaires Shortbread (with Pistachio)

Remember when we were talking about how much we loved caramel earlier? Well, sorry but we’re not done yet.

We are obsessed with Millionaires Shortbread – they have buttery shortbread, sweet and salty caramel, and rich chocolate sauce. What is not to love? Nothing is the answer to that question.

One day we found a recipe that puts a layer of crushed pistachios between the biscuit and the caramel. Not to be too dramatic but it changed our lives.

#4 – Mulled Wine Sorbet

If you have any mulled wine or mulled wine spices leftover after Christmas this year then you can make use of them by turning them into a delicious sorbet.

You will need to water the wine down a little bit so it can freeze, but making this sorbet is as easy as blending frozen wine. Easy desserts are some of the best desserts to make.

Serve this sorbet with fresh dark berries or maybe a red berry syrup and everyone at the table will have empty bowls in no time.

#3 – Rose, Caridomn, and Pistachio Loaf Cake

This flavor combination was first popularised in Turkey and the Middle East – and honestly, we can’t get enough of it. It’s fresh, spicy, and sweet. Most importantly, it’s really hard to stop eating it once you have started.

What we love most about loaf cakes is how easy they are to make. All you have to do is combine all the ingredients and then bake them. Good food really can be that simple.

#2 – Cream Tea and Scones

In this list we have looked at desserts from France, Germany, and the Middle East – so let’s look at a classic English dessert.

Cream Tea and Scones is a dish often served at afternoon tea in the UK.

To serve this you will need a milky cup of tea, a scone, a pot of jam, and some clotted cream. We are not going to take a side on which order to put the jam and cream on because we don’t want to start an argument between our British friends.

#1 – Japanese Pancakes

If you have never had a Japanese Pancake before then you need to change that as soon as you possibly can.

These pancakes can be over 5 inches thick but they are as light as air when you cut into them. They take less than 10 minutes to make and are so simple.

Once you make these, you will never go back to normal pancakes again – trust us on that one.

We don’t know about you, but we are starving after talking about all those delicious desserts. We are definitely going to have to make one of them tonight to satisfy our sweet tooth – maybe we will make the matcha cheesecake…
